Web Design Critique: Khao Lak Scuba Adventures

About Khao Lak Scuba Adventures

Khao Lak Scuba Adventures is a PADI 5 Star IDC Dive Center offering diving trips from Khao Lak, Thailand to the world famous Similan and Surin Island Marine National Parks. It is recommended for aspiring divers who wanted to try Thailand liveaboard diving especially those want to enter the Similan Islands.

Searchability. When searching for the keywords “scuba diving Khao Lak”, the website appears on the first page of the Google search result which is a good thing. It could be better though because it is the fifth site on the list excluding the ads above the search result.

Usability. The website is easy to use and all information is available for divers who are interested to know more about the offers from Khao Lak Scuba Adventures. There are corresponding pages at the menu tab for easier access of online users.

Navigation. There is a single menu at the top of the page which is arranged horizontally and there are drop down menus for some of these pages. The same menu navigation links can be found at the bottom most part of the page so the user does not have to go back to the top of the page after they are through reading the homepage’s content.

Design and layout. The website’s design is quite simple with an attractive header that showcases the beauty of the Similan Islands. The overlapping texts are animated but it does not slow down the webpage. Right below the header are embedded links to social media accounts, Trip Advisor rating and customer reviews which should have been placed at the bottom of the page. Right below is the liveaboard packages offered by the dive center which should have been the focus of the page. Overall, the homepage is packed with information for divers without using overwhelming texts and images.

Contents. The website of Khao Lak Scuba Adventures which offers Thailand liveaboard diving is filled with contents and information that divers would need and want to know. The packages for liveaboardsare laid out along with day trips available. The courses are also listed along with information about the different dive sites in the area.
