Quick Origami Tiles

To work this Tutorial you will need: Paint Shop Pro, Xenofex 1.1 plugin filter, Simple filters and an image or a tube of your choice

Lets get started:

Either
open an image of your choice duplicate shift+D and close original, resize to 200x200, using the following settings.
Image/resize, pixel size 200x200, Bilinear Resample, all layers checked, maintain aspect ratio unchecked.

Or open a new image 200x200 transparent, floodfill with your desired colour, Layers/New Raster Layer and apply your chosen tube, Layers/Merge all flatten.

Next go Effects/Texture effects/Fine Leather and apply with these settings, Colour #E0E0E0, Angle 30, Blur 40, Number of Furrows 40, Length of Furrows 4, Transparency 250.
Effects/Plugin Filters/Xenofex1.1/Origami, with the following settings:
Impressionistic, Fold size 10, Random Seed 60.
Effects/Reflection effects/Kaleidoscope, with settings, Horizontal offset 36, Vertical offset 35, Rotation Angle 0, Scale Factor 0, Number of Petals 16, Number of Orbits 2, Radial suction 47. You will now have a tile similar to this:

File/Save as/ name.........tile01.jpg and save.
Now to get more Mileage from your tile go Effects/Plugin filters/Simple/Diamond, and you will get another tile similar to this one:

File/Save as/ name.......tile01a.jpg and save.
You can repeat this step up to 2 times more, to get 2 further tiles from the one image, similar to these:

after that, the design starts to get a little too small, but I figure 4 tiles from one image in 8 steps can't be bad.
