To work this Tutorial you will need: Paint Shop Pro, and Simple filters you can either use 3 shades (Dark, Medium and Light) of the same colour or you can use three contrasting colours. If you use three shades of the same colour your results will be similar to those above, if you use three contrasting colours, then your results will be similar to those of the page background

Lets get started:

Open a new image 200x200 transparent,
Set your foreground colour as your dark colour or darkest shade of your colour and floodfill your image.

Add a new raster layer, change to your medium shade of colour and floodfill, Image/Resize and select 70% make sure all layers is unchecked, Image/Rotate select right and check free rotate, type in 45.

Duplicate this layer, Selections/Select all, Selections/Float, set your foreground colour to your palest shade and floodfill the selection, deselect, Image/Rotate select right and check free rotate, type in 45.

In your layer palette lower the opacity of both the top two layers to 50 and then go Layers/merge/merge all flatten.

Effects/Plugin Filters/Simple/Quick tile, apply and you're done.

Save your tile as a .jpg or .gif file.
