Simple Effective Frame

Framed Image worked from a tutorial by Jarah, click on pic to go to the Xmas Elephant tutorial

To work this Tutorial you will need: Paint Shop Pro, I.C.Net Filters Unlimited, and a gold fill of your choice.  Note *Filters Unlimited* is not a free filter, if you do not have it a similar effect may be obtained by using the funhouse tile and mirror filter, available here, **alternative Step 4**  instructions are given for this substitution in the tutorial.

Lets get started:

Chose one colour from your graphic for your foreground, and make your background colour white,

Step 1: Image/Add Border 4 symmetric and select it with your magic wand, tolerance 0 (PSP8 users, please ensure you select the inside option from the pull down menu on your toolbar). Flood fill with your gold fill, I used sg-gold_crystal, but I can't offer it for download as I don't know where I got it from. Keep your border selected. Selections invert, effects/3D effects/Cutout H=2, V=2, O=85, B=4, Colour=black, repeat with H= -2, V=-2

Step 2: Using your selected colour ( PSP7 users, toggle your foreground/background colours in your colour palette. PSP8 users select your foreground colour from within your add borders window) add border 4 symmetric.

Step 3: Repeat Step 1

Step 4: Using your selected colour, Image/Add Borders 25 symmetric and select it with your magic wand, tolerance 0 (PSP8 users, please ensure you select the inside option from the pull down menu on your toolbar). Effects/Plug-in Filters/I.C.Net/FiltersUnlimited, select the Tile and Mirror options in the left hand pane and the Mirrored and scaled option in the right hand pane, accept the default settings. Edit repeat Filters Unlimited, Edit repeat Filters Unlimited.

**Alternative Step 4: for those using the funhouse filter; Using your selected colour, Image/Add Borders 25 symmetric and select it with your magic wand, tolerance 0 (PSP8 users, please ensure you select the inside option from the pull down menu on your toolbar). Effects/Plug-in Filters/Funhouse, select the Tile Mirror filter with the following settings, x tile 2, y tile 2, click OK. Apply this filter with the same settings, twice more.**

Work steps 1, 2 and 3 once more and you are all done.
