To
work this tutorial you will need PSP, you can get a trial copy
here, Eye
Candy 4000 and my file containing the selections and tubes
from here. The selections for this
tutorial are saved in alpha channels in the blank psp image
that you will find in the zip file. I made my chocolate egg
tubes in the zip file, from a tutorial at Argentina's
Designs, you can either use my tubes, use tubes of your
own or follow the link above, to work the chocolate egg tut
yourself.
Lets
get started;
Set your foreground to your main colour, I used colour #FFFFE3,
and set your background colour to your choice of contrast, I
used colour #623838, if you use your own colours, remember to
select darker shades of those colours for the cutouts.
Open
the PSP file that was in the .zip, it contains all the selections
in the alpha channels. Shift+D to duplicate it, then close the
original, name and save your image as a psp file and remember
to save often.
Step
1; Add a new raster layer, name it Legs, Selections/Load from
alpha channel Legs, floodfill with colour #FFFFE3, Selections/Float,
Effects/3D Effects/Cutout, and apply a cutout using these settings,
V+H=0, O=80, B=24 colour #A3A379. Selections/Select none, Effects/Noise/Add
6% uniform. Effects/Plug in Filters/Eye Candy 4000/Jiggle with
these settings, Movement type=Brownian Motion, Bubble Size=7,
Warp Ammount=5, Twist=80, Seamless Tile=Unchecked, Random Seed=1.
Step
2; (Optional but very nice) Select your Retouch tool set to
smudge with these settings,

using
the Custom Brush shown below,

and
pull out to fluff up the fur all round the legs.
Step
3; Add a new raster layer, name it Right Upper Arm, Selections/Load
from alpha channel Right Upper Arm, floodfill with colour #FFFFE3,
Selections/Float, Effects/3D Effects/Cutout, and apply the
same Cutout. Selections/Select none, Effects/Noise/Add 6% uniform.
Effects/Plug in Filters/Eye Candy 4000/Jiggle with the same
settings, they will still be there. Then select your retouch
tool, once again using the same settings and fluff up the fur
all round.
Step
4; Add a new raster layer, name it Body, Selections/Load from
alpha channel Body, floodfill with colour #FFFFE3, Selections/Float,
Effects/3D Effects/Cutout, and apply the same Cutout but this
time change the Blur to 45. Selections/Select none, Effects/Noise/Add
6% uniform. Effects/Plug in Filters/Eye Candy 4000/Jiggle with
the same settings, they will still be there. Then select your
retouch tool, once again using the same settings and fluff up
the fur all round.
Step
5; Add a new raster layer, name it Right Ear, Selections/Load
from alpha channel Right Ear, floodfill with colour #FFFFE3,
Selections/Float, Effects/3D Effects/Cutout, and apply the
same Cutout but this time change the Blur to 10. Selections/Select
none, Effects/Noise/Add 6% uniform. Effects/Plug in Filters/Eye
Candy 4000/Jiggle with the same settings, they will still be
there. Then select your retouch tool, once again using the same
settings and fluff up the fur all round.
Step
6; Add a new raster layer, name it Right Inner Ear, Selections/Load
from alpha channel Right Inner Ear, floodfill with colour #632838,
Selections/Float, Effects/3D Effects/Cutout, and apply the
same Cutout as for the Ear, this time changing the colour to
#000000. Selections/Select none, Effects/Noise/Add 6% uniform.
Effects/Plug in Filters/Eye Candy 4000/Jiggle with the same
settings, they will still be there. Then select your retouch
tool, once again using the same settings and fluff up the fur
all round.
Step
7; Add a new raster layer, name it Head, Selections/Load from
alpha channel Head, floodfill with colour #FFFFE3, Selections/Float,
Effects/3D Effects/Cutout, and apply the same Cutout but this
time change the Blur to 45 and the colour to #A3A379. Selections/Select
none, Effects/Noise/Add 6% uniform. Effects/Plug in Filters/Eye
Candy 4000/Jiggle with the same settings, they will still be
there. Then select your retouch tool, once again using the same
settings and fluff up the fur all round.
Step
8; Add a new raster layer, name it Left Ear, Selections/Load
from alpha channel Left Ear, floodfill with colour #FFFFE3, Selections/Float,
Effects/3D Effects/Cutout, and apply the same Cutout but this
time change the Blur to 10. Selections/Select none, Effects/Noise/Add
6% uniform. Effects/Plug in Filters/Eye Candy 4000/Jiggle with
the same settings, they will still be there. Then select your
retouch tool, once again using the same settings and fluff up
the fur all round.
Step
9; Add a new raster layer, name it Left Inner Ear, Selections/Load
from alpha channel Left Inner Ear, floodfill with colour #632838,
Selections/Float, Effects/3D Effects/Cutout, and apply the
same Cutout as for the Left Ear, this time changing the colour
to #000000. Selections/Select none, Effects/Noise/Add 6% uniform.
Effects/Plug in Filters/Eye Candy 4000/Jiggle with the same
settings, they will still be there. Then select your retouch
tool, once again using the same settings and fluff up the fur
all round.
Step
10; Add a new raster layer, name it Basket, Selections/Load
from alpha channel Basket, floodfill with colour #D6BC84, Selections/Float,
Effects/3D Effects/Cutout, and apply a cutout using these settings,
V+H=0, O=80, B=10 colour black. Effects/Texture
Effects/Weave with these settings, Gap Size=1, Width=8 Opacity=50,
Weave and Gap colours set at #4A372A,
Fill gaps checked,
Selections/Select none.
Step
11; Add a new raster layer, name it Basket Top, Selections/Load
from alpha channel Basket Top, floodfill with colour #D6BC84,
Selections/Float,
Effects/3D Effects/Cutout, and apply the same Cutout as just
used in Step 10.
Selections/Select none.
Using your selection tool set to rectangle, select the top half
of the Basket Top ellipse and click on it, Selections/Save to
alpha channel, you can name it if you wish otherwise it will
just save as selection #20. Selections/Promote to layer and
name this layer Basket Top Back. Click back on the Basket top
Layer, Selections/Load from alpha channel, select the selection
you just saved and hit Delete, then click on the Basket Layer
hit Delete, Selections/Select none. In your Layer palete grab
the Basket Top Back layer and move it down so that it is between
the Left Inner Ear layer and the Basket layer.
Step
12; Return to the top layer in your layer palette it should
be the layer named "Basket Top" add a new raster layer
and name it Eyes, Selections/Load from alpha channel Eyes, floodfill
with white, Selections/Select none, Effects/3D Effects/Drop
Shadow and apply a drop shadow using these settings H+V=-1,
O=90, B=1 colour #000000.
Step
13; Add a new raster layer and name it Pupils, Selections/Load
from alpha channel Pupils, floodfill with Black, Effects/3D
Effects/Inner Bevel and apply a bevel using the round preset.
Step
14; Add a new raster layer, name it Muzzle, Selections/Load
from alpha channel Muzzle, floodfill with colour #632838, Selections/Float,
Effects/3D Effects/Cutout, and apply a cutout using the following
settings, H+V=0, O=80, B=18.8 colour #000000. Selections/Select
none, Effects/Noise/Add 6% uniform. Effects/Plug in Filters/Eye
Candy 4000/Jiggle with the same settings, they will still be
there. Then select your retouch tool, once again using the same
settings and fluff up the fur all round but go very gently around
the eye area.
Step
15; Add a new raster layer and name it Nose, Selections Load
from alpha channel Nose, floodfill with black, Effects/3D Effects/Inner
Bevel and apply the round preset, Selections/Select
none.
Step
16; Add a new raster layer and name it Mouth, Selections Load
from alpha channel Mouth, floodfill with black, Selections/Select
none.
Step
17; Add a new raster layer, name it Left Arm, Selections/Load
from alpha channel Left Arm, floodfill with colour #FFFFE3,
Selections/Float, Effects/3D Effects/Cutout, and apply a cutout
using these settings, V+H=0, O=80, B=24 colour #A3A379. Selections/Select
none. Effects/Noise/Add 6% uniform. Effects/Plug in Filters/Eye
Candy 4000/Jiggle with the same settings, they will still be
there. Then select your retouch tool, once again using the same
settings and fluff up the fur all round.
Step
18; Add a new raster layer, name it Right Arm, Selections/Load
from alpha channel Right Arm, floodfill with colour #FFFFE3,
Selections/Float, Effects/3D Effects/Cutout, and apply a cutout
using the same settings as in the last step, Selections/Select
none, Effects/Noise/Add 6% uniform. Effects/Plug in Filters/Eye
Candy 4000/Jiggle with the same settings, they will still be
there. Then select your retouch tool, once again using the same
settings and fluff up the fur all round.
Step
19; Add a new raster layer, name it Right Lower Leg, Selections/Load
from alpha channel Right Lower Leg, floodfill with colour #FFFFE3,
Selections/Float, Effects/3D Effects/Cutout, and apply a cutout
using the same settings as in the last step, Selections/Select
none, Effects/Noise/Add 6% uniform. Effects/Plug in Filters/Eye
Candy 4000/Jiggle with the same settings, they will still be
there. Then select your retouch tool, once again using the same
settings and fluff up the fur all round.
Step
20; Add a new raster layer, name it Feet, Selections/Load from
alpha channel Feet, floodfill with colour #FFFFE3, Selections/Float,
Effects/3D Effects/Cutout, and apply a cutout using the same
settings as in the last step, Selections/Select none, Effects/Noise/Add
6% uniform. Effects/Plug in Filters/Eye Candy 4000/Jiggle with
the same settings, they will still be there. Then select your
retouch tool, once again using the same settings and fluff up
the fur all round.
Step
21; Add a new raster layer, name it Soles, Selections/Load from
alpha channel Feet, Selections/Modify/Contract by 10, floodfill
with colour #632838,
Selections/Float, Effects/3D Effects/Cutout, and apply a cutout
using the following settings, H+V=0, O=80, B=18.8 colour black,
Selections/Select none, Effects/Noise/Add 6% uniform. Effects/Plug
in Filters/Eye Candy 4000/Jiggle with the same settings, they
will still be there. Then select your retouch tool, once again
using the same settings and fluff up the fur all round.
Step
22; Add a new raster layer, name it Details, Using your Draw
tool,
and settings as follows, Type=Bezier Curve or Freehand Line,
Width=1, Line Style=solid, Antialias=Checked, foreground colour
#A3A379, background null, Draw a curved line in the crook of
the Left Elbow, and draw finger lines on each Paw.
Effects/Blur/Guassian Blur, 1.50.
Ok,
now we are almost done, we just have to add some decorations.
Step
23; In your Layer palette, select the Mouth layer, right click,
New raster layer, name this layer Egg, Open your chocolate egg
tube and Edit/Copy, then click on your main Image, making sure
you are still on the Egg layer in the layer palette, Edit/Paste,
using the mover tool move the chocolate egg to be in the bears
paws, you may need to resize your egg. Now In your layer palette
click on the Basket Top Back layer, right click, New raster
layer, name this Layer Egg 2, once again Edit/Paste, resize
the egg if need be and position your egg in the basket with
your mover tool, rotate the egg a little using the deformation
tool if you so desire, once you have it as you like it, duplcate
the layer and Image/Mirror, so you now have two eggs in the
basket.
Optional
extras I used the lasso tool, freehand to select and delete
a bite out of the egg the bear is holding, and then I applied
a very light drop shadow with these settings,H+V=-1, O=50, B=6,
colour=black, to each of the eggs and to the basket.
When
you are completely happy with your image/Layers/Merge Visible,
Edit/Copy, Edit/Paste as new image, File/Export/Picture Tube
and name and save your tub file.
